SINGLE LEAF TWIN DRIVE 3.0

Single Leaf Bi-Folding solution TWIN DRIVE 3.0 is an ideal solution where side entrance access is required. It is designed to allow a vehicle user full manoeuvrability round a property. Compared to a double swing gate, a single Bi-Folding Gate will be less expensive to automate since it requires only one gate operator instead of two. It is a perfect solution for the entrance with gravel surface, taking in account that you do not need to lay down the rails and cables for the second gate opener. There‘s no doubt that Bi-Folding Gates are a money and space saving alternative that are convenient and can be very stylish.

EXTREMLY QUIET

In the past Swing Bi-Folding gates were originally very noisy. Older versions use steel rails and wheels which can be very noisy when compared with New CAIS TWIN DRIVE Trackless Bi-Folding System.

NOT FOR USE EVERYWHERE

There is one drawback with this type of bi-folding swing gate in that they can‘t be used everywhere. They need to have a special frame so a few factors need to be taken into account such as cross-bracing. The reason why cross-bracing is fundamental is primarily to keep the leaf from sagging. A compression cross-brace takes weight from the top bar and transfers it by pushing down against the bottom hinge, or a vertical component or post, which transfers load to both hinges. Improper or missing cross-bracing will cause the Vertical deflection of the leaf. Cross-bracing should always “lean into opening”. Furthermore, the bi-folding swing gate only work properly when the internal hinges are properly welded in respect to the vertical axel. You‘ll also need to think about wiring of safety edges, as this type of feature should be accommodated in the frame.

WHY WE MADE “FOLLOW ME” ?

With improvement in the hardware and the growth of the market for condominiums and town homes, there has been a resurgence of interest in space-saving features. The traditional sliding gate need enough room of completely clear back space for the gate leaf to slide into. The Cantilever Telescopic Gates are used when there is no room for the traditional sliding or a swing gate or for architectural effect. According to building experts, the cantilever telescopic gates are considered as “one of the top ten most overlooked items when many architects and builders plan a home“.

HOW “FOLLOW ME” WORKS ?

A FOLLOW ME SET – Pocket Gate Hardware is a telescopic cantilever sliding gate hardware that disappears, when fully open, into a compartment in the adjacent fence. The telescopic cantilever hardware split the gate into overlapping sections that slide closed alongside the other section. FOLLOW ME SET travel on flying carriages suspended from a cantilever track feature a dedicated twinned track. FOLLOW ME SET is driven by a standard sliding gate opener (not included) and a series of cables controls the opening and closing of the second leaf. As FOLLOW ME SET is a trackless cantilever system, it will not require any track laid in driveway entrance.

Installing a telescopic pocket cantilever gate rather than a traditional cantilever sliding gate, can solve the problem of backspace, by reducing the necessary space up to 36%. FOLLOW ME is a High-speed telescopic gate hardware that doubles the speed of opening and closing if compared to standard cantilever or traditional sliding gate system, by using an integrated system of special flying carriages + dedicated twinned tracks, and a series of cables that controls the opening and closing of the second leaf. As the back gate opens the wire rope pulls the front gate panel along by twice as much as the back so it travels at double the speed and goes twice as far ending up directly in front of the back gate when open. HARDWARE WORK

The back gate panel is driven by motor like a single panel sliding gate is. A telescopic drive mechanism then drives the front gate from the back using a wire rope that wraps around the bottom rail connecting to the ground at one end and the front gate at the other end. There is a sheave (like a pully but for wire rope) fitted to each end of the bottom rail. As the back gate opens the wire rope pulls the front gate panel along by twice as much as the back so it travels at double the speed and goes twice as far ending up directly in front of the back gate when open. The same occurs with the second half of the wire rope when closing.

SLOPE ACROSS A DRIVEWAY

Cantilever sliding gates can be on driveways that slope across … even if it’s quite steep, this is done by shaping the gate to fit the slope and making the entire track the gate rolls on is straight as possible on the same slope as the driveway.

Generally a larger motor is needed for sliding gates that slope across because it is having to lift a portion of the gates weight.

Guide System to Use

If the top and bottom rails have the same rake (slope), have no palings on the front and the track is reasonably straight a roller guide system may be used. Otherwise a guide rail, block and post system must be used. The guide block and channel needs to be square to the Top Rail and if the top rail is raked the guide block needs to be angled too.

The top of the gate may be level to match a stepped fence and if opening down hill the guide rail can be at the top of the gate because it drops as the gate opens. The guide rail runs through a nylon block … that slides in a channel fitted to a post. The channel must be long enough for the movement of the block.

SLOPE UP THE DRIVEWAY

Any slope up or down the driveway from the direction of the road has little effect on sliding or telescopic gates so long as the footing for the gate track is on the same slope as the driveway. With telescopic gates if the slope from the road is steep the gate heights may need to be adjusted. For very steep grades the wheel will dig into the side of the track to some degree increasing friction so its better to make this part not so steep when forming the driveway in the first place.

In this case the guide rail rises as the gate opens and must not rise above the fence line otherwise the guide post would need to be higher than the fence, which wouldn’t look so good so the guide rail would need to be set lower down the gate, which normally means having to fit a middle rail or depending on the design of the gate the guide rail may be attached to vertical middle stiles or slats.

ADVANTAGES OF SLIDING DOORS

Advantages of sliding doors are that there is almost no room required to open the door, they are relatively easy to automate. The mechanism is also secure, since it cannot be lifted out of its hinges. CAIS HANGAR Sliding doors are commonly found as Aircrafts Hangars, Warehouse, Large plain buildings in Industrial Parks, Railway warehouse, agricultural storage, Sawmill Plants. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CANTILEVER GATE AND A SLIDING GATE

Cantilever gate is a unique type of sliding gate, but with distinctive, interesting differences from your typical gate with wheels. One of the primary differences between a cantilever gate and a sliding gate is the location of the wheels that helps the gate move. A cantilever sliding gate rests and rolls on a wheel on the front bottom edge of the gate with a track supporting wheels on the back edge. In contrast, a cantilever gate is held above the ground, moving along rollers running along the top and inside of the fence, with wheels attached to a vertical concrete foundation.

CANTILEVER GATE SPACE REQUIREMENTS

Generally, the space required to accommodate a sliding gate is the same as the width it covers, with a few extra feet for access. A 9.0 mt wide driveway would need to have 9.0 mt on one side for gate storage and about 0,3 mt to allow manoeuvrability around the gate frame. A cantilever gate needs to be about 35 percent wider than its span to counterbalance the weight of the suspension posts.
